2010 Chevrolet Camaro

The Chevrolet Camaro which retired in 2002 is making a comeback as a 2010 model. It will be a four-passenger, rear-wheel-drive performance-oriented vehicle. To be offered in coupe and convertible body styles, the 2010 Camaro will appear in LS, LT and SS trim levels. The Camaro LS and LT will be motivated by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that will produce 300 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, while the Camaro SS will get a 6.2-liter V8 engine that will make 422 horsepower and 408 pound-feet of torque. All engines will be combined with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The 2010 Camaro LS and LT are estimated to achieve 26 mpg on the highway, while the Camaro SS will deliver 23 mpg on the highway.
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro will come with a sleek, heritage-inspired design with modern cues. The convertible will retain a foldable soft top of its concept. It will be offered in 10 exterior body colors. The interior of the 2010 Camaro will be equipped with standard technological features such as Bluetooth connectivity, OnStar with one-year Safe & Sound Plan and six airbags. Remote vehicle start system, USB connectivity, ultrasonic rear parking assist and Boston Acoustics 9-speaker, 245 watt audio system with subwoofer will be available on select Camaro versions.
Chevrolet also announced pricing for the all-new, 2010 Camaro. It starts at $22,995 MSRP for the V-6-powered LS model, and $30,995 for the V-8-powered Camaro SS (all prices include $750 destination charge). Customer ordering opened on Oct. 13, with production scheduled to start in first quarter of 2009.

2010 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept

The Camaro convertible concept is based on the original Camaro concept, with only minor changes required to accommodate the convertible body style. It shares exterior dimensions with the Camaro concept (L/W/H: 4,730/2,022/1,344 mm), although the convertible concept’s windshield surround, which features a bright anodized finish, is changed slightly to accommodate the convertible top. The Camaro convertible concept is motivated by a torquey V-8 engine that rightly sends power to the rear wheels via a manual transmission. It also features a four-wheel independent suspension system and four-wheel disc brakes.
Like the Camaro concept vehicle, the Camaro convertible concept blends a dramatic, forward-looking design that is mindful of the brand’s storied heritage. That design includes classic long hood/short deck proportions and a wide, wheels-at-the-corners stance that gives the vehicle the look of hugging corners even when stationary.
The Camaro convertible concept’s Hugger Orange pearl tri-coat color is a contemporary update of the classic hue, which was originally offered in 1969. It is complemented with twin gunmetal gray sport stripes. The modern interpretation of the classic color and its dark accent stripes simultaneously reflect the Camaro’s heritage and deliver a deep, lustrous and thoroughly contemporary appearance.
The Camaro convertible concept rides on 21-inch front wheels and 22-inch rear wheels. The wheels have a deep-dish, five-spoke design and feature charcoal center sections with bright outer edges and an orange outline on the wheel edge. The charcoal wheels complement the gunmetal gray stripes on the body.
An official letter was sent by General Motors today to dealers informing them of a thirty-day production delay for the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro beginning March 16 this year. The message explained that the reason for the delay is neither legal nor economic, but simply GM’s desire that the “Camaro exceeds the highest quality benchmarks.”
A member of the forum at Camaro5 who is said to have the directive told that the Camaro convertible, which was reported shelved two months ago, will be available for sale as a 2011 model. The document lists the power figures of the bent-eight versions as follows, 400 hp for L99 and 426 for LS3, with October as the month set for the completion of all 10,000 pre-orders

2009 Chevrolet Camaro Bumblebee Autobot

BUMBLEBEE™, the heroic AUTOBOT based on Chevrolet’s Camaro concept from the first “Transformers” movie, returns with a high-performance attitude. Joining the vehicles on stage will be BUMBLEBEE in his AUTOBOT form, standing almost 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and 13 feet (4 meters) wide.
